Free and Pro users rely on documentation and standard email support; Business customers get a 48-hour email SLA; and Data Rooms customers get 24/7 email support. There is no publicly advertised phone support line. Papermark’s founders remain visibly involved in support: demo calls are booked directly with co-founder Marc Seitz via a public calendar link, and co-founder Iuliia Shnai has personally responded to individual customer reviews on G2, thanking users by name and addressing specific feature feedback. For self-hosted deployments, support runs through the open-source community on GitHub, supplemented by paid support on Enterprise contracts.

Papermark’s security page states that the platform is SOC 2 Type II audited and supports GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA compliance workflows. All documents are encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.2. Data is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt) by default, with a US region (N. Virginia) available, and Enterprise customers can choose from 38+ global data center locations, including the EU, US, and UAE. It’s worth noting that one of Papermark’s own product pages (the Data Room landing page) separately describes SOC 2 as “in progress,” while the dedicated Security page states Type II has been achieved: a discrepancy between two of Papermark’s own pages that a buyer performing due diligence should confirm directly with Papermark before relying on it.
Additional security controls include granular file/folder permissions, dynamic watermarking, NDA gating, password protection, email verification, allow/block lists, screenshot protection, two-factor authentication, SSO/SAML on higher tiers, and full audit trails. The open-source codebase is also pitched as a security feature in its own right: because the code is publicly reviewable, Papermark argues this enables faster community-driven vulnerability discovery compared with closed-source competitors.
